Pastor Michael J. Faggett is a native of Dallas, Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in communication from Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, and continued his graduate studies at the University of North Texas. Currently, he is a Cosby Scholar at the BSK Theological Seminary. By the end of 2026, he will finish his coursework for the Master of Divinity degree at BSK.

Pastor Faggett serves at the 4th Senior Pastor in United’s history. He accepted that call in August 2024. God has smiled on the partnership of Pastor and People at United with Pastor Faggett. During the early phases of his tenure, United witnessed more than 40 souls baptized into faith in Jesus Christ. God led Pastor Faggett to launch the C.A.R.E. (Celebration, Acclimation, Rehabilitation, and Evaluation) vision and lead United in the Better Days Capital Campaign, an initiative to liquidate the church’s mortgage. That campaign continues to make substantive strides to push United towards becoming debt free.

Prior to joining the United family in 2024, Pastor Faggett pastored in Shreveport, Louisiana, for four years during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beyond his pastoral leadership at United, Pastor Faggett also serves in national denominational work. He currently is the Deputy Dean of Young Adults for the Dr. E. Edward Jones Congress of Christian Education in the National Baptist Convention of America International, Incorporated.

Pastor Faggett is a published author. He is a contributing author of the “No Man Left Behind” men’s devotional. That devotional debuted at No. 1 on Amazon.

Pastor Faggett is happily married to his wife, Rebecca. She owns Good Roots Counseling, a private therapy practice that specializes in marriage and family therapy.

Pastor Faggett’s life’s mantra is “Trying to Help the Saints.”
